Mouths

Speaking is a common courtesy, it doesnt mean you have to share your whole life story, just speak and don't always look for someone to speak to you, its your time now open your mouth. But im always amazed at how easy it is for people to move their lips when they are saying something they shouldn't.

Talented

Cute

Unconscious discrimination or is it? originally posted June 2010

Today we live in an open minded society. Gone are times where daily life is governed by racial status and segregation policies. Right? In many cases, this rings true. However, the media has a way of sneaking those nasty little cultural labels in every where we look. Case in point: The most recent McDonald commercials all have lyrically talented African Americans. Want another example; good credit commercials always depict a Caucasian with the sole intent to maintain their good credit score. My question to you, is this not a modern day example of racism, an updated version of stereotyping. The media controls how we think, what we think, and why we consider it factual and finite.
Unfortunately those negative stereotypes are sometimes warranted. If you saw a black man, wearing baggy pants, a cap and iced out jewelry, he would be considered a thug. Chances are he is a thug, gang banger, or drug dealer, an atrocious individual destroying his own neighborhood. If you saw a white man, we automatically think he’s a middle class white collar worker doing right by society. And our oriental friends are always presumed to own some type of hair supply depot or food restaurant. Sound familiar?
These social stereotypes didn’t just appear through happenstance. Some of us perpetuate every single generalization that is depicted through mainstream media, including the negative views. When will we start to view people from an individual point of view? When will we want to stray from the norm, act outside of the box?

Let God Meet You

Are you letting God meet you where you are. God loves you for who you are and where you are. Sometimes as Baby-believers you think you have to be at a certain level to give your life over to God, or you have to act a certain way or pretend in order to prove to super-Christian's that you are sincere. It is important to remember who you  are trying to please and why. God accepts you when you make mistakes. Some people use the term God knows my heart very loosely but its true God does know your heart and knows when you are truly struggling with sin etc while trying. God knows that it is so much harder to live a christian life and so ,much easier to live a worldly life. And again God still loves you. I have talk to super-Christian's before and these are the people who have placed themselves on such a pedestal that they think that its there godly duty to save you from whatever hidden secret you are holding. I remember a podcast by Joyce Meyers where she referenced the super Christian's who think they are more christian then the next person cause they have their bibles highlighted the color of the rainbow. I say just because you stand on your tippy toes reaching your hand up to the sky, higher than the next guy does that make you any more Christian than the person sitting next to you. Don't let your walk with God be determined by anyone else's opinion . Only God can judge your walk. Seek his word and be convicted and led by God the Father Almighty by reading and studying his word daily. Super Christians stop the madness and let these people come to church with out being attacked. Offer your support, exhibit tough christian love, but stop being abusive. stop running folks away especially young folks.
